What should I look for in an arbor removal team? (Top 5 Tips)

Houston Tree Service presents many dangers. Customers who have already had a less than stellar experience, have come to us ALDINE TREE for solutions to their challenges. Some have told us they are moving out of Texas, and asked what they should look for in a new arbor removal team.

We advise following our Top 5 Tips for choosing a reputable arbor removal team:
  1. Ask for their business card. Google search the phone number, and business name. If the number appears to be associated with multiple companies, this is a classic sign of "Re-branding" after a company receives a poor reputation following accidents, cons, or simply bad service. Find another provider.
  2. Visit their website. If they don't have one, view this as a Red Flag, and move on. If they have one, and it looks poorly designed, think of it like a restaurant with a dirty dining room. Would you want to eat there?
  3. Request verification of Insurance.
  4. Ask to speak with the owner in person. If he or she is not available, ask why? Explain you'd like to wait until you have the chance to meet and speak with this business owner in person. We have seen businesses based out of another state. They don't have a franchise, however keep a large portion of the sale money, and subcontract work to local businesses who are often uninsured.
  5. Ask the person performing the estimate if he or she will be on site when the work is being conducted? We are personally aware of more than one group who has an individual follow leads, provide a quote, and if they are awarded the work, they will sub it out to an uninsured team. This is unethical on many levels, and is also dangerous to you and your home. Sadly, the person who comes out with the clipboard typically pockets 1/2 of the money, and won't accept responsibility should something go wrong. They will change the name of their company numerous times, to make it "MURKY" and difficult for a home owner to fully understand who they're working with. The group on the ground (sub-contractors) will often Flee if there's an accident, because as a result of not having insurance, they don't want the financial and liability responsibilities.

We know from experience, many Home owners do not have a professional relationship with a local tree professional. This can lead to accepting random offers from "Door Knockers" who allege they were in the Memorial, Texas neighborhood and noticed a dangerous limb. This often leads to shady results.

During Hurricane season, we advise having a complimentary exam of your limbs. We provide FREE Houston area arbor exams, and offer a plan to reduce damage caused by strong winds and heavy rain. Your peace of mind can be as easy as ALDINE TREE
