OK, Shelby in Sugar Land, Texas asks, “Delfino, I have received quotes from a few competitors.  One said he could match your price, but would not cut the pine tree down in sections.  I don’t want to make a decision without better understanding.  Could you please explain what it means to cut down a pine tree in sections, and what are the benefits?

Hi Shelby, we thank you for your excellent question.  What does it mean to cut down a tree in sections?  Cutting down a tree in sections involves multiple extra steps, and will result in less damage to the ground.  It is more time consuming, labor intensive for the tree crew, and on paper may initially appear more expensive, however the benefits are long term pleasing results.  What is the benefit of cutting down a tree in sections?  The benefit of cutting down a tree in sections is it reduces potential damage and nearly eliminates the possibility of deep unwanted expensive impact sinkholes.  For example, one of the biggest complaints we hear from customers of competitors is, “We wish we would have known trying to save a few dollars was going to result in our precious ornamental arbors and garden being crushed.  They created and left huge ugly SINKHOLES, Craters and Divots in our lawn.  We thought we were saving $200 using them, but spent over $1,200 more after the job.  We had to pay a landscaping company to buy fill dirt, top soil, materials and sod to correct their mess. The garden we were cultivating for years was crushed in one afternoon. What a nightmare.”  It’s true. When reviewing an estimate, we advise mindfulness.  Carefully examine the written description in the quote, and ask questions.  Make the most informed decision.”

When asked, ‘How much does it cost to remove a tree?’ The cost to remove a tree varies depending upon size, location, condition, and distance.  Our response is honest.  No two trees are the same. There are numerous cost considerations for tree service including size, location, condition, accessibility, distance from the street, how far to haul it off and more.  This is why a homeowner should genuinely not trust an individual providing a quote for tree maintenance over the phone without seeing the arbor.  Why?  Well, this is a great question, and we’ll add a link below to a blogger post we wrote about this.  We plan to expand upon this further in another video.
